I’m really looking forward to playing tomorrow in Aalborg/Denmark in this spectacular concert hall! Together with my colleagues from the Hamburger Bläserquintett I will play Tchaikovsky’s #rococovariations in my own arrangement. A world premiere of a work by the British composer Edward Cowie is also on the program. He wrote a fascinating solo piece for me that refers to the prelude of the first solo suite for cello by Johann-Sebastian Bach. I play Bach first, then Cowie.
And in the program there is much more wonderful music for cello and wind quintet and for wind quintet.
